We would describe psychotherapy as a guided conversation with a purpose. It’s a safe space where people can explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences with a trained professional who will help you gain insight, develop coping strategies, and make meaningful changes.

Generally, Psychotherapy is not directly covered by OHIP. However, many insurance plans through work or school, will cover a portion of Psychotherapy.

Yes, Psychotherapy is confidential. This means that what you discuss in therapy stays between you and your therapist, except in certain situations where there may be concerns about your safety or the safety of others. Discussions about this will happen further during the consultation and first session.

Therapy can vary in length, typically lasting anywhere from 6 to 30 sessions. On average, most clients attend around 12 sessions. The exact number depends on factors like the nature of the challenges you're facing, the goals of therapy, and your personal progress. Some people may need fewer sessions, while others might find it helpful to continue for a longer period to fully address their needs.

We do not offer direct billing to insurance. However, once payment is made, you will receive an invoice and receipt via email, which you can then submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

We require 24 hours notice for any cancellations. If cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the scheduled session, the client will be subject to the full session fee.

Virtual Psychotherapy is safe and can be very effective! Our virtual platform uses encryption to keep your personal health information safe and secure. Your therapist will also ask you to confirm your location during sessions in the unlikely event an emergency occurs.

At this time, all Psychotherapy sessions are conducted online through our practice platform Jane.
